Introduction 

A Little About Me

I come from a beautiful city full of mountains in the middle of Colombia called Medellin. However, I grew up in Panama surrounded by an exuberant biodiversity. If you haven't been to those countries I absolutely urge you to do so. I am madly in love with Psychology and self development, I aspire to use Education to help others pursue their maximum potential. I believe that the educational system should focus on the development of the individual and should give children the tools for developing self-knowledge and intrapersonal as well as interpersonal intelligence. 

My Past Experiences

My past experiences with technology in an educational setting are very normal. I have used the usual educational software like Canvas and Blackboard, I have created blogs for other classes and I used computers to do research. I also have encountered smart boards and I currently use my IPad to take notes instead of a notebook that can waste paper. 

What I Hope to Learn

I hope to learn how to use the current technology to enhance education but also to learn the potential of technology in the future. To get prepared for the digital era that we are encountering and the one in which we will live in the years to come. I think technology has its benefits but also its dangers, and we must train children to know how to use it for their growth. I hope to learn how we can create lessons integrating technology and the safe use of it for nowadays youth.

    I love how you want to use your education in psychology and education to ultimately help others pursue their own potential, I find that to be the same reason why I am interested in psychology and education.

    I have a friend who lives in Medellin! Her name is also María, which she tells me is VERY common: she has around 30 friends with the same name! Also, nice page, the headings are useful and the layout is clean.

    It is interesting that you were born in Colombia but raised in Panama. My closest friends are from various parts of Colombia and I enjoy learning about the culture of such a beautiful country. I am from Miami Beach and I also got to experience growing up around diversity!

Before this class, I had never used Twitter before. Not, it is the social media I enjoy the most. I like the intellectual and discussion aspect of it. I loved FlipGrid, it is definitely my favorite resource we have reviewed in this class. Go check out my video on this class Grid! Open Educational Resources are teaching resources that are available to all public who need them on the internet. They range from resources and guides to make lesson plans, to websites where teachers can share their original curriculums. One example of an EOR is the website called Connexions. In this website, you can find educational resources such as books or even classes in the form of modules. Whoever that wants to learn an educational resource but does not want to consume it the conventional format can access Connexions and consume it in a module format. For our last assignment, we used Qualtrics to create surveys. I found this tool super interesting because it is an easy way to collect data and the opinions of your students or other populations. As a psychology major, I am very familiar with surveys because they are one of the main ways in which we collect data for research. As a teacher teaching psychology to a senior class, I would use surveys to gain a sense of my student's preferences and personalities. This might help me create more personalized lesson plans. There were several aspects of my classmate's blog post that I enjoyed. The aspect I enjoyed the most was to get to know their personal opinions and interests. I feel like it helped me get different perspectives on the same material I was learning and this made my perspective broader.
