Before this class, I had never used Twitter before. Not, it is the social media I enjoy the most. I like the intellectual and discussion aspect of it. I feel like other social media can be superficial while Twitter enables important discussions about interesting topics between users. My experience so far has been positive. I have interacted with my peers, shared my feelings and thoughts, and read really useful information by other accounts I follow.

Now, my experience creating my own website surprised me. It was far more difficult than I thought. However, I am someone who is not very tech savvy. This assignment manages to give me some headaches, but finally, I did my best. I learned that you can use free resources as Weebly to create a webpage that represents you. I think that nowadays this is very important because it can be like your presentation card online.

Students with special needs need different kinds of learning. This is why assistive and adaptive technologies exist, in order to assist and adapt education to people with special needs. Some examples of this can be tablets to help disabled students to communicate better or any other kind of device that can help this student adapt to the learning environment. I personally have not encountered any special needs peer or student in my experience at schools, however, I can see the importance of these technologies in order to create a more inclusive educational system.

I think that one of the challenges of these technologies can be that, because there are different special needs for each student, it can be difficult to access all the devices that are needed to meet all the special needs.

  1. I enjoy the intellectual and discussion part of twitter as well. Twitter helps many learn and see things in a different way.

  2. I had never used twitter either! It can actually be quite useful in establishing a PLN and learning more about your areas of interest. I find it to be important now to have a website of your own, especially for teachers. It keeps your students updated all the time. In college we have Canvas or Blackboard, but I remember in K-12 we didn't have any resources like that, just general teacher pages on the school website. Good to learn how to make one now!
